Connected and yet disconnected
A part of two lands
Returning home as a stranger
Returning home out of place
Losing your tongue feeling out of place, a traitor
Gaining a tongue feeling accomplished, accepted, a traitor
Part of a tree with roots and branches stretching far and wide
Joining another tree, creating new links, inosculation
Holding on to the colour and tastes of home
Appreciating new flavours and learning new colours
A constant battle is waged
Feeling exhausted but determined to find balance
But in one way I am free
Free to explore new corners
Free to map the skies
And roam the seas
In respectful reverent curiosity
