Desolate Beauty

Flat

Empty

As far as the horizon reaches I can see

Alone I stand

A disturbance in the field of nature

It’s as if humans weren’t meant to find you

I hear the waves

A distant sound beckoning

I walk and I walk till I reach

Standing by the lapping waters I’m overwhelmed

I’m engulfed

Anger

Jealousy

Greed

They don’t exist here

The mountains, the waters, the vast sandy plains humble you

Humble me

Grey

Blue

White and Black

Your colours are subdued but your beauty isn’t

It almost doesn’t feel real, even as my eyes drink you in, the reality refuses to sink

I want to stay forever

But I can’t
