Let’s Talk About Trafalgar D. Water Law – One Piece (re-upload)

SPOILERS WITHIN

I’ve done the Strawhat crew and so now it’s time for me to talk about characters I like outside of the crew. The first shall be Trafalgar D. Water Law.

When he was first introduced I didn’t think much of him. He looked a little sleep deprived and crazy. Then they fought the navy with Luffy and I thought, “I like these young captains” (Eustass Kid being the third) and so I thought I’ll keep an eye out for him.

I didn’t have to wait long as he showed up when Luffy was fighting for Ace’s life and saved Luffy when he had turned catatonic.

Side note: Law has one of the coolest ships. I love that it goes underwater and is basically a fully equipped surgery. From that moment on I was like, “Hm, I think I like this crazy but helpful guy.”

Cut to two years later and my man was serious, he still looked sleep deprived and was part of the worst generation. I was like wtf happened to you in the two years bruh?

I wasn’t even confused about him being part of the worst generation but being a Shichibukai? That was confusing af. Maybe it’s just me but why in the world would he want that? If I was going for a title I’d go for Yonko. But then the more we progressed into the story the more it made sense.

The amount of planning Law went through to defeat Doflamingo was unbelievable. He was meticulous and dedicated. Although all his careful planning fell through because Luffy and because Doflamingo was one of the worst villains faced so far. I don’t rate Big Mom at all, she’s just annoying but Doflamingo, oooh I wanted him defeated! All the battles were interesting and just, urgh!, the best.

Law’s story was an interesting one. It is probably the most heart-breaking backstory yet in my personal opinion. I mean he lost his whole family and he was going to die. Then a crime boss picked him up and accepted him into his family. Corazon, aka Rosinante, then was a major Tsundere as he didn’t want that life for Law *tear* but eventually decided to take him in after some rocky patches. He looked for the ope ope no mi devil fruit to cure Law and to give him a chance at life away from Do’s toxic influence. But to do that he had to go against his brother. Then his brother found out about the betrayal and Law had to listen and hide as Rosinante was killed. And then Rosinante held on so that he could mask Law’s cries with his power until Doflamingo and the Navy left *takes a deep breath*.

Plus he didn’t tell Law he was navy because he wanted him to like him!

I need a minute.

When I say I cried tears, I cried tears. Just typing out that summary got me feeling some type of way.

The fact that Law then took it upon himself to take down Doflamingo… mad props. I’m glad he also took down Vergo *intense glare* that guy. In fact most of Donquixote pirates made my skin crawl, they were so annoying. Except Senor Pink and of course that chick Baby 5, and those who were forced to be on his crew like Violet. I find it interesting that Do considered them his family. I guess he had a heart somewhere, deep, deep, deeeeeep within.

A lot of people like Doflamingo and excuse his behaviour because of his childhood and I’m like excuse me Rosinante had the same damn childhood and he was a sweet angel of a child who did not bloody murder his father and then take his head to the dragons! Who does that!

Who does that! *she asks the room*

Can you imagine the trauma Rosinante went through? I didn’t rate Sengoku when he was active because of the ish that happened at Marineford but now that he’s resigned I like him. Anyway I didn’t rate him but I forever respect the fact that he saved Rosinante.

This post isn’t about Rosinante though; it’s about Law and his love for Rosinante. I kid, but really though that love was strong and it’s one of the reasons I like Law. He made sure Rosinante’s wish for the Doflamingo to be defeated was achieved, what a guy.

I like that he has a quiet and methodological personality and I like how his crew is squishy in contrast. I can’t imagine them in a fight honestly, except perhaps Bepo. That makes them more interesting as now I’m anticipating how they’ll be.

I also like the fact that he’s a sort of swordsman. He’s not the same as Zoro (the ultimate swordsman, you heard me Mihawk!) but his sword is cool still. His power is cool. It both heals and messes with people (like Cesar) it gives me so much joy.

He’s also a member of the D. line. What does that mean? Will we ever find out? I think we will, especially now that we’re on the Wano arc. All of it is going to come out and I feel like my mind is going to be blown.

Do I see romance for Law? No because I ship him with myself. I’m kidding (am I?) but still no, I don’t really ship him with anyone … apart from me. Ok I’ll stop.

(Update: My actual husband is Denjirou. I wholeheartedly ship him with me)

Alright, that’s it for Law. I hope that made sense. What do you like the most about Law?

Next shall be Shanks.

If you’re wondering why I’m re-uploading. I had another blog and I’m deleting it and transferring posts here. As to not overwhelm you (and me) I’m releasing them one by one.
