I talked about dating yourself and making time for you a while back. I made the point that sometimes you need to have a date with yourself. Take time out and enjoy it. In this world we’re not used to knowing and loving ourselves the way we are and so we need to make time for that so we can appreciates ourselves and in turn others.
We also sometimes need a time out. The world is busy and can be very draining so a nice relaxing date with yourself can be just what you need to recharge your batteries. You might be thinking, “But I’m an extrovert I don’t need me time!”. Lies, we all need me time, some of us more than others.
So recently I found myself on an accidental date with self.
I was feeling a bit down and just blah, so I found myself on my computer watching funny stuff. Afterwards I thought hmm, sometimes that’s all you need to make yourself feel better, to make yourself laugh.
So if you’re having a down day, if you’re drained, try watching or doing something guaranteed to make you laugh or to make you feel content.
I had the house to myself too and there is nothing better than just laughing and having a comfy day at home with no one around to judge.
Then as my date with self continued I ate some good food, another essential for a great date. So for your own self dates I recommend picking out your favs and eating them guilt free.
And finally music. If you follow or have browsed through my blog you know I love music. You may not know I love music that makes me dance or music that I can just let go to. So on that night, I connected my computer to the TV and had a mini dance party. It was so much fun and I went to bed happy. It doesn’t matter if you can’t dance just get the feelings out or just enjoy the music! It’s great and very therapeutic.
