HTTYD 2 – Bigger isn’t always better

I finally watched it! I have been avoiding it because of a spoiler I stumbled upon but now I have! Woo hoo!

So let’s talk about the movie.

As always SPOOOILLLEEERRRRSSSS *cough* *cough*

Okay, so I liked the sequel. It was a good transition from the first movie and they did well to expand the world. I liked how creative they were with incorporating the dragons into Berg or Borg … I don’t know Hiccup’s town.

I wasn’t expecting his mother. I mean when I first heard she was going to be in the movie. I thought she was dead but no she abandoned her baby for her new dragon friend.

JK I ain’t mad. But I was mad when she just grabbed Hiccup and Toothless and took them to her den. It was funny how she was just like Stoic, they were #teamprotectourown.

And wasn’t their reunion a surprise? He wasn’t mad at all! I found that hard to believe but I guess that shows how loving Stoic truly was.

Hiccup was optimistic and it was sad that his dad, Stoic, died. They had just reunited … I felt that was unnecessary of a death but perhaps that was the only way Hiccup would see that Mr Bloodfist wasn’t going to change.

I was also mighty sad when the white alpha died. I was hoping the black alpha was going to be secretly good but nope! He was a dick like Mr Bloodfist.

Then the best surprise of the movie, Toothless Alpha mode! No one ruined this for me! I mean I did watch the How It Should Have Ended video ages ago but my brain did not commute the spoiler. When it happened I was like, “Whoa!”

And it really went to show, it doesn’t matter how big you are, it’s inner strength that counts. And Hiccup and Toothless had a butt-load of inner strength. Compared to others they were small and unimposing but nah they were the real bosses. I liked that message of the film.

I give it a four out of five.

What did you think?
