Vengeance is God’s

To me belongeth vengeance, and recompence; their foot shall slide in duetime: for the day of their calamity is at hand, and the things that shall come upon them make haste. Deuteronomy 32: 35

Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Romans 12: 19

What do those two verses tell us? That vengeance is not ours but God’s. And really is it not best that way?

I feel like God is fair in everything that He does. He can see where someone needs to be chastised and He can see when someone needs to be forgiven. He is not blinded by emotions or selfishness.

As humans when we seek vengeance I feel like it pollutes us. It becomes the only thing we seek and it blinds us to other things. The pursuit of vengeance has ruined many a good people.

The only time I think vengeance is a good thing is when you get your vengeance by moving on with your life. By forgiving and being happy and just forgetting about the person who did you wrong. That is the best revenge and the most effective. You get to move on with your life and your enemy gets a lesson in kindness and doesn’t get the fun of goading you.

Some people enjoy antagonising others, they will harm you and bait you just to drive you mad with vengeance.

So leave it up to God. He cannot be baited, He can and will handle it. So don’t worry about it. Their time will come.

That is all!

Bonus verse:

Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. Romans 12: 20

Ps: I also wrote a book on revenge, a fictional supernatural book. I never intended for it to be about vengeance and the pitfalls of it but that’s what it became. #shamelessplug #AClassicCaseofDejaVuisthebook
