She came back as promised with a sultry song!

I am happy to report, the lyrics are just as sexy as the dance. Last time with Dally I remember my one complaint was that the lyrics of the song did not match the tone of the song nor the dance and mv.

That is not a problem with Layin’ Low. The song is sexy in every way.

First, let’s look at the lyrics.

She’s addicted to this bad boy. He gives it to her good and she knows she should probably stop going back to him but the pull is too strong. Then Jooyoung with his verse! Wow, he did not mince words. He did not cut corners. He said, this is how it is. We have good sex but we’re not good for each other.

I don’t know why I was surprised.

It’s just, it’s been a while since a song has been blatantly sexual in kpop and not covertly.

Then again, Hyolyn does manage herself now as she has her own company so this is the freedom that comes with it.

Now, the dance. It was choreographed by Nicole Kirkland and may I just say, thank you.

What a dance!

I love the part especially at Jooyoung’s verse. She popped off! The part where she did a shoulder stand split?! I don’t know if that’s the technical name but that’s what I’m calling it.

The whole dance is just so good!

I have been enjoying seeing people do the dance challenge with her, from the dancers who do the live stages with her to Jo Kwon and Junsu! What?! The chemistry…

It’s a shame the dance gets censored when she’s on music shows… but then again maybe it’s good her shoulder gets a break.

In terms of the melody. I do like this song but I think Dally still has number one spot of my sexy Hyolyn songs. For Layin Low, I like the verses more than the chorus.

I feel like the chorus is missing a little something.

Obviously I love Jooyoung’s parts, I’ve talked about them enough already. They’re just so smooth… and sexy. He elevated the song and his voice blends well with Hyolyn’s.

Overall though, I like it.

I’m always looking for a hoe anthem. I just didn’t think I’d be getting one this early.
